Educational & Diagnostic Services
Partnership with Quakertown Community School District
and The Renewal Centers, Inc.
In fall 2001, New Life was asked to provide onsite educational services to the clients of The Renewal Centers, Inc, a comprehensive drug treatment facility for adolescents with substance abuse and behavioral health issues. Through the cooperation of Quakertown Community School District, this program started in spring 2002. Its objective is to provide individualized instruction to each client’s needs, with the ultimate goal that no student fall behind in educational credits due to their placement.
Program Details:
In order to meet these needs, New Life educational staff work closely with the home school district and parents to obtain assignments, ensuring that students miss very little of their lessons. An education plan is developed for each student during his or her stay at the treatment center. New Life provides age and skill level appropriate curricula for those students who have been out of contact with their home school. Students may receive diagnostic achievement testing to aid proper academic placement. Classes are held from 8:15 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
